How do I navigate?

What browsers are supported?
The Region 8 website has been tested with the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, FireFox, and Opera. The site has been verified to work as expected with each of these browsers, though each of these browser do render the content slightly differntly. Opera will not display events and documents (PDFs) unless you have popup blocking turned off for the Region 8 website.
It is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version if you do not have the latest version installed on your system. While the site should render properly in older versions, it does render better in the latest version.
Other browsers such as Netscape, Mozilla, Safari, and AOL have been tested somewhat by members who own these browsers. They report some problems. The Region 8 Web Master is working to fix these problems.
If you own a browser other than IE, FireFox, or Opera then please let the OA Region 8 Web Master know what problems you are having by
sending an email to the Web Master. Please be describe the actions it takes to create the problem. In the subject line place "Problem Report". Your feedback is appreciated.
There are also versions of IE, Firefox and Opera that work on Macintosh systems. If you are using Safari or some other browser on a Macintosh system you can install Firefox which will solve all your internet problems.

I am unable to view PDF files. An error occurs or a blank window appears.
You most likely don't have a PDF reader installed or you have an older version of the PDF reader that cannot display the current version of PDF files. Please download the latest ADOBE PDF viewer availble for free from
Adobe.com
I am unable to view Events or Documents. The home page appears.
If your browser is Opera then most likely the problem is popups being blocked. The JavaScript that detects popups does not work with Opera and the home page is displayed. Allow Popups to be displayed and events and documents will be downloaded.
If you browser is some browser other than Opera then most likely you most likely don't have a PDF reader installed or you have an older version of the PDF reader that cannot display the current version of PDF files. Please download the latest ADOBE PDF viewer availble for free from

Events and Documents open under the menu and not in a popup window.
This is the designed behavior for browsers that do not allow popup windows. If this bothers you then you must turn on popups. Please see the browser help for a description on how to do this. You may also have a toolbar or utility program installed that adds popup blocking behavior. Please see the documentation (help) that came with the toolbar or utility to allow popups with the Region 8 site.

The content area is not displaying content properly
Content is displayed in a window within the window known as an IFrame. Sometime the IFRame does not resize properly white space may be visible below this area. If you maximize, normalize, or resize the window this sizing issue should go away. The IFrame has been setup with a scroll bar that will display when the content is more than can be displayed in the IFrame area. You will see a scroll bar with in a scroll bar. If you scroll the out window to the bottom then scroll the inner window down you should be able to see all the content.
Content is best viewed at a resolution of 800 x 600 or better. If you are viewing this site at a resolution lower than 800 X 600 content may not all be be visible and will require scrolling.
It should be noted that some browsers do not render IFrames properly; thus you may end up with a small frame area in the center of you screen that requires a lot of scrolling.
